Can someone please enligh_en me as to why broadcas_ news has eliminated the letter T in many words? I can scarcely hear the content of the news over how many of these words can have the letter T omitted in one newscas_.

Weather forecas_ers and traffic people seem to be the wors_, modifying words such as eas_ and wes_, eas_ern, wes_erly. Traffic reporters are big on trouble spo_s and traffic "spli_s"..

No one seems to have a clue abou_ this subtle speech manipulation, bu_ I cer_ainly hear i_... to a poin_ tha_ I can'_ hardly stand to listen to broadcas_ news any longer.
