Web 3.0 : The Semantic Web

Web 3.0 is the semantic web. Welcome to Virtual Agents who interview your community members. Most of these bots operate on your cell phone or your blackberry and create the illusion of "the human touch." Can you say "cutebot?"

Web 3.0 might be a third-generation of the Web enabled by the convergence of several key emerging technology trends including better broadband adoption, mobile internet access, web services interoperability, distributed computing, open technologies like open data formats, open APTs and protocols, open-source software platforms, Semantic web technologies like RDF, OWL, and Semantic application platforms.

Web 3.0 software analyzes the content and user click-stream without any effort by the service provider or end-user. This data is used to create real-time content profiles and user interest profiles. These profiles are then used to recommend content such as news, blogs, videos, products and also other users.

Web 2.0 is dead because it was a dorky term fabricated to just say something was different i.e. different from Web 1.0 which had busted as an ATM for wealthy investors. Remember the Dotcom Bubble? Web 3.0 is the logical response to The technology Web 2.0 which was based on technology which was too small to show up on human radar.

Most of us are comfy with Office apps. Word is good at composing, Excel at calculating, Powerpoint at presentations, and Visio draws well. None of these is good at interoperability. There is no cross training for efficiency at what the others do. This is the impetus for Web 3.0
